Hi everyone,i'm about to start a new pole/discussion and i'd like everyone to"vote" for it and tell us his opinion.
I'd like to let people know that this thread is more about the SD games, not so much about the HD games.
i truly think that every upload in nowadays must be released uncompressed/untouched,ESPECIALLY the old SD dvds from the 80's-90's-early 00's.
today's HD games ,even in 720p-60fps look terrific(although i still prefer the 1080i versions for sure),but the difference is not that big.
but in the SD games, especially in the old games,i think that there's a BIG difference (for example) between a 600Mb and a 2,6 Gb dvd,but not very big difference in size.
and don't get me wrong,i'm not disrespecting anybody, neither the uploaders, nor the downloaders,i ain't meaning that smallers versions should end,
i'm ok with a smaller version for the ones who want small versions for their own reasons,
but i think we must never forget to release the uncompressed versions.(SD dvd,HD,raw mpeg,ts files etc)
Some day the rip (R.I.P. quality) thing has to end.
i don't see why users have to be punished for no reason,by getting mediocre/bad quality rips.
i've seen terrible rips (some of them were smaller than 400Mb!!!!!) through years floating around.pixels flying everywhere, every time there's movement, audio out sync, low resolution...
there's absolutely NO REASON!!!
space is NOT an issue for almost anybody anymore.
Hdds are cheap in nowdays. i just bought an external 3 TB hdd (my 5th external hehehe) for 98 just euros.you keep a whole season in there, maybe even more.
also dvds are also very cheap, about 0.20 euros each disc.so space is NOT an issue.
And even if somebody can't find them at that price in his country ,DAMN...WE LIVE IN 2014,GOD BLESS THE INTERNET,WE CAN ORDER THEM FROM THE INTERNET!!!
some uploaders might say that they have slow speed and that they would need awful lot of time to upload/seed the large versions.
well i think that the quality freaks like me are not in a hurry. release the small version first and then upload the large one.
there's also another idea especially for those who record in dvd.if you need too much time to upload a 4+Gb dvd, then don't record it in XP or SP mode(although i don not like that idea. i think everybody should record in XP mode). record it in LP mode.
a game without commercials only takes about 1hour and 30minutes,and if it's a FIBA game,it only takes 1hour 15 minutes,so this translates into 1,5 Gb which is the average size of a good lookin rip...
well guess what? the dvd recorded in LP will still look better (actually a lot better) than a same size rip of an XP/SP dvd...
it's crazy to keep killing the quality like this...
LET'S PUT AN END IN THIS THING!!!!
Now time to hear your opinions too!!!!
